#Startup #Entrepreneurs - You Got To Be A Little Crazy

by Kim Lavine

I love it when people tell me "I'm crazy"

It tells me I'm on to something, and I'm so far ahead of the curve that they can't see it yet.

When I was first starting out, 10 people told me I was crazy for every one person who told me I was going to be a millionaire. If people aren't telling you you're crazy at the beginning, you're not pushing the envelope enough.

Don't expect people to get it

You don't have time to convince them, nor does it make sense to let them in on the details of your million dollar idea--so they can cash in on it, maybe before you.

In fact, every new venture I've started in the last two years has resulted in people telling me "I'm crazy." "I'm making a mistake." "That won't work." "That's going to backfire on you." Until they tell me months later "you're a genius." "That was a brilliant move." "You're going to be rich."

That's because the people who are going to be rich tomorrow are the people you never heard of doing things you never thought of TODAY.

Are You Crazy?

What are you doing today to push the envelope? Who's telling you "you're crazy" and what are you saying to them?

I think for some of us the "Your Crazies" are motivational for the "I'll Prove You Wrongs". My product doesn't always turn the light bulb on in others, but what I do get frequently is, "How do you market it?" Never before have I encountered so many people who are curious about my marketing strategy.
